80th Division Digital Archives Project
General Orders
 (Silver Star, Bronze Star, Air medal, Purple Heart)

Headquarters 80th Division General Orders are numbered sequentially and contain information regarding awards of the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Air Medal, and Purple Heart. From what I can gather, General Orders are sequentially numbered by year; so you may find, for example, GO 82 for November 17, 1944 and another GO 82 for March 23, 1945. These General Orders (in PDF format) are typically between one and 6 pages.

Because there were so many men who received the Purple Heart, I haven't found the time to list those - at least not yet.
What that means is that these General Order documents ALSO contain the Purple Heart awards, I just don't have them listed in a separate searchable document; you'll have to look through each one. While doing so, keep in mind that the date of the General Order DOES NOT correspond to the date when the veteran was wounded.
